Privacy

What Falsify collects, why, and who else sees it. This describes what the software actually does.

When you run a check, the text of that page is sent to our servers so it can be analysed, and short excerpts of it are sent to the search and language-model providers listed below. We do not store the page text after the check completes, and we do not use it to train models.

Checks only ever run when you start one. Falsify does not read pages in the background, and it does not watch your browsing.

What we store

• If you sign in: your Google account identifier, email address, name and profile picture.
• Usage counters: how many checks, highlights and seconds of video you have used in the current period, so plan limits can be enforced.
• Billing records: your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, and the status and renewal date of your plan. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our servers.
• If you do not sign in: a random device identifier generated by the extension, and your IP address, used only to apply free-tier limits.
• When you install: the welcome page records your country and state or region (as reported by our hosting provider), the extension version, your browser's user-agent string and a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to count installs.

Your check history is stored locally in your own browser, not on our servers.

Who else sees it

Running a check requires sending page excerpts and search queries to third parties. Each is used only to perform the check:

• Google — sign-in, and language models used in analysis
• Amazon Web Services — language models used in analysis
• OpenRouter — routing to additional language-model providers
• Serper — web search used to find evidence
• Stripe — payments and subscription management
• Vercel and Neon — hosting and database

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Your choices

You can use Falsify without an account on the free tier. You can sign out at any time from the extension. To delete your account and everything associated with it, email falsify.support@gmail.com and it will be removed. Uninstalling the extension removes the locally stored history.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date below changes and signed-in users are notified by email. Questions: falsify.support@gmail.com.
